The best part about the holidays is not only decorating but also going out and seeing the decorations. For me I like to see and experience the decorations as well as decorating. Going out there and seeing the decorations is a way to get excellent inspiration for your own decorations. Plus, it’s an excellent way to change the scenery and possibly get some fresh air.
Where do I go?
You can visit many places to enjoy the holiday decorations besides watching ads on the television. If you are looking for the latest and greatest decorations out there you can visit your local stores or the mall. Of course, everything in the store will look smaller or bigger than when you set it up in your own area. To get the real effect of how they look in person is going around the block or visiting other neighborhoods. One benefit of Halloween is you get treats to see other people’s Halloween decorations.
What can I decorate?
Not only can you decorate the inside and outside of your home but sometimes you can decorate your vehicle and/or space. Students and teachers will sometimes decorate their desk or classroom. Office employees will also sometimes decorate their office desks. Campgrounds will host special holiday weekends and campers will get the chance to decorate their campers and tents as well as their sites.
I am not much into decorating or know how to make it look good.
If you are not interested in decorating that’s okay; you can still enjoy other people’s decorations. Not knowing how to make the decorations look good is okay too. It’s a learning experience and the more you buy the more interesting it will look. You can always start small with a simple garland or a door hanging decoration. No one is ever perfect at decorating; they all have their own flaws, but some know how to cover it up better than others.
Too busy!
We can always find excuses to make to not decorate or not go out and see the decorations. But sometimes if you do not do it for yourself do it for someone else. There may be a child that loves decorations, that lives nearby and just loves it when the neighbors make their house full of decorations. There also may be a neighbor nearby that decorates so they can put a smile on someone else’s face. Whatever the reason is, we always can make a little time to decorate or enjoy the decorations. Nothing says you must go all out to decorate; it can be something small and simple.
Where do I find holiday events?
There are many different types of holiday events out there, sometimes you must be creative to find them. For trunk or treat schools, churches, and the cities/communities will have bulletins posted either on Facebook, website or around the area. Campgrounds will have a calendar with the events posted on a bulletin at the campground or you can find it on their website. You are also able to call schools, churches, city hall and campgrounds to find nearby events and doings. If you are not all about looking for them some local stores will have bulletin postings. Peer to peer networking is a great way to find local holiday events also.
