Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?

In today’s times, the world is so busy, and life is flying by as we work our butts off at work and at home. There are many times throughout the year we will reference how time flies. For example, we are amazed it’s already a certain month or season already. Having a lazy day every so often is not a bad thing. We all need a day to relax and have some “me” time. We don’t want to overwork ourselves and become depressed. Having a so called “lazy day” will help us refresh ourselves and improve our morale. Do you have a lazy day or a me day?

Who is defined as a lazy person?

Just because you take a me day or have a lazy day every so often does not make you a lazy person. A lazy person who does nothing all the time and every day. Sometimes we may need to take these days one or two times a week depending on our level of stress and workload. This does not make us lazy people either. If we are busy and working hard almost every day, then we need to have that down time. The worst thing anyone can do is burn themselves out.

Burn out?

Burn out has two meanings of course the one most gear heads are thinking of is burning rubber with your car. In the sense I am referring to is working so much that you physically and mentally cannot catch up. Your emotions start to become uncontrolled (anger and depressed), and you will feel like there is nothing meaningful in your life except work. You will also start to really hate all the work you do, and everything will seem horrible (when it’s normally not).

Preventing burn out.

To prevent burn out and extra stress in your life you will need to take a me day or have a lazy day. Find something you enjoy or relaxes you. Hobbies, walks, hiking, fishing and other activities are great ways to have some me time. Reading, watching movies, playing video games and other activities along those lines are great ways to have a lazy day.

What’s the difference between a me day and lazy day?

I like to think a me day is doing stuff I like to do. For example, going fishing on a boat and enjoying the scenery. A lazy day is doing stuff I like without leaving my home or couch. For example, binge-watching a full series of your favorite show. These are both different in many ways but are very effective in boosting your morale and relieving stress.

Me time!

So, don’t forget to take some me time. Relieve that stress and enjoy the things you love to do. Do not get confused on me time and family time. You still need to spend time with your family and loved ones. Enjoy life don’t work your life away or let it pass you by.

What is your favorite thing to do for your lazy day or me day?

My favorite thing to do is get my nails or hair or both done, followed by lunch, then a stroll in the mall going from store to store, not necessarily shopping. These days are very important to me. I do it once a month

Sounds like a perfect way to get some quality “me time”. Keep it up!

Very important that you note the difference between every so often and doing this too much. I’m working my way out of being too idle but I also have compassion toward myself because the life circumstances make the lazy days make perfect sense. Life ebbs and flows.

What might be ideal to the general population doesn’t means it right for you! Sometimes we have to take more time for ourselves especially if we are highly stressed. If what you do works for you then keep it up!

Remember it doesn’t matter what others think, you know your self better than anyone else will ever be able to. You have to do what’s best for you.
