What food would you say is your specialty?

Everyone has that one special dish that they love. Most the time it’s someone else’s cooking that makes that dish taste even better. Sometimes we have our own specialty dish that no one can come close to. There’s more to a dish than just following a recipe and wrapping it up quick. Sometime to perfect a dish it takes many trials and errors. One dish I miss is my grandmother’s lemon rice soup, no one can come close to it. What is one dish you miss eating?

What makes a dish so special?

Have you ever noticed you will go over to someone’s house or when you cook on grill food taste so much better. The most important ingredient in a dish is love. For example, when making lemon rice soup the key ingredient to keep the soup curdling is blow it a kiss and stir it in. When you pour your heart into a dish it makes the dish taste so much better. On a joking matter free food always tastes great! But when you really try to make something good, it usually shows, and it will taste like you really try to make an amazing dish.

Everyone can boil water!

While something so simple like everyone can boil water, everyone can cook. If you have a recipe (whether digital or in hand), able to read, and some cooking utensils then you can make something. But just because you put ingredients into a pan doesn’t mean it will turn out good. You must really put some love into cooking for it to really be an over-the-top dish. I can follow a recipe and cook something, and it might taste good, but love is what will make your dish really stand out from the others. For example, I love spareribs. I have eaten many ribs in my lifetime. I have tried them cooked in many ways. I have tried ribs from restaurants, family and friends. My mom makes the best spareribs I have had. I have had them from different places that cook them just like she does. Yet doesn’t taste anywhere near it. So, just because you can make a dish and follow a recipe, food can still taste different. That’s because cooking isn’t just making a dish and calling it day. You need to cook from the heart and put feeling into the dish to be amazingly delicious.

Trial and error?

Think about when you learned to play a new sport or learned a new instrument. It wasn’t like you tried and practiced a little and beautiful music was made. You had to pour your heart into it and try different scenarios or different tones to make sure it was perfect for the big game or music show. The same goes with cooking. Just because you have a good recipe, you may find that modifying the ingredients may make a dish taste so much better. But like anything we will fail before we succeed. What is a dish you have perfected?
