Spending a day at the zoo is an excellent way to get your vitamin Z according to The Detroit Zoo. The zoo is an excellent way to learn about different animals, habitats, and what you can do to help contribute to the environment. Going to the zoo is a great way for the family to have fun while learning some interesting facts about the world we live in. Zoos may seem like a great thing for people and animals, but they too have their flaws also. What is your favorite thing about the zoo?
Getting your vitamin Z as The Detroit Zoo says.
Learning and seeing the different animals is not only fun for the kids but the adults enjoy it also. There is so much to learn about every animal at the zoo. No matter how many times we go to the same zoo or visit different zoos we learn something new each time. There is nothing more interesting than getting to feed a wild animal from your hand. The zoo is also great to save the animals that are in danger of extinction. The zoo will also hold different activities and events throughout the year, especially around the holidays. For example, being able to participate in an easter egg hunt around the zoo around easter time. Or another event is adult night for adults which includes seeing the animals at night with your favorite adult alcoholic beverage. Whatever your reason for going to the zoo is, there is nothing like seeing your favorite animals up close in person. Do you ever participate in the events at the zoo?
Great learning experience.
Kids and adults love to see and learn about all the animals and the environments that they live in. The zoo is also a great way for everyone to learn how they can help the environment and what they can do at home to make the environment a better place for humans and animals. The zoo will do this by having different facts posted throughout the park as well as facts posted near the animal facts. One animal I always enjoy seeing and learning about is the penguins. Do you try to make a difference in your life, so the environment is better for humans and animals?
The flaws behind the scenes!
Even though the zoo can save animals that are on the verge of going extinct, the zoo can be bad for the animals too. According to PETA animal abuse happens at the zoos. Many zoos abuse their animals to keep them tamed or to breed them with other animals. Sometimes the animals can be under a lot of stress and are unhappy due to the small enclosures. Animals that once roamed the open land are now confined to small enclosures for the public’s viewing. The environment for many animals becomes boring which increases the stress of the animals. Some zoos will sometimes neglect the health of their animals and will not treat them properly. Do you think your local zoo treats the animals fairly?
Difference in a zoo versus a circus?
Some will say that a zoo and circus are the same thing or have many same traits. While they both use animals to make profits, they are yet very different. Zoos are permanently stationary that people come all around the world to go and see. A circus will travel with animals’ town to town showing how they have tamed these wild animals and force them to do tricks. Zoos will try to protect endangered species and get them off the endangered list. Zoos will also do a lot of research on animals to better understand what makes them so unique. Zoos tend to take better care of their animals but use more sedation, which lowers the life expectancy of the animal. Zoos also want to make sure their animals are in tip top shape for the public viewing. Circuses will still take care of their animals without using sedation and seem to care less about the animal’s appearance as long as they are healthy to perform for the show. Most animals at a circus tend to not get bored since their environment is always changing and the animals are always practicing. Do you think one is better than the other?
Enjoyment and fun!
Most people enjoy going to the zoos. I always enjoy seeing all the animals. It’s a way to get out of the house and go do something fun and exciting. I think overall zoos do have good intentions to keep their animals safe and healthy. But like anything everyone will have a side of their own beliefs of good or bad about something.
