Work
I don’t know what it is with today, but I swear people are driving like idiots today. There are many people doing illegal U-turns. In the ambulance I have been cut off, braked checked (a few times), people coming over in our lane, going through red lights (one was a semi-truck), and people going the wrong way down a road. Not to mention some of the emergency calls we had so far today. I sometime wish they would do a television show like cops but instead paramedics. The things we see and deal with I couldn’t make this stuff up with all the stories I have. I haven’t looked at the moon yet today, but it must be a giant, close, full moon.
Question
Is there a reason some people stop when they see an ambulance (with no lights or sirens on)? I will pull up and they will either pull over or just stop in the road to let us pass. But if I have my lights and sirens on people love to try to beat us or not pull over. Makes no sense to me, maybe someone can answer this for me. I also don’t understand why people do not pull to the right and either slow down or stop when an ambulance has its lights and sirens on. If our lights and sirens are on, then that means someone is dying or going to lose a limb (or extremity).

On a positive note, I did have a proud moment from my nine-year-old daughter yesterday. A couple of years ago I bought her a learn basic electronics. In this kit has many different projects to help you learn electronics. Well, a couple of years ago she was really struggling in school so I figured we will make learning fun while covering math, science and a little bit of history. Yesterday she came up to me and wanted to learn electronics. We ended up building about 10 projects. Today as soon as I got off work, she brought the box out and said let’s build more today. She said today in school they learned a basic series circuit and how it works, but it was like a review since I already learned this. We ended up building another 10 projects today. The best part is that she is learning without really realizing she is learning. There are over 500 projects, I am thinking if we build them all and she really enjoys it, I will introduce her to robotics. I think that will be a little more challenging but a great thing to learn.
I am glad I have found something this girl likes besides her phone. I am hoping that as the projects get more in depth and challenging, she will want to challenge herself to figure out what makes it work.
How do you help your kids learn and stay engaged in something that helps them learn?
