The one topic I really do not like talking about is politics. Everything is controlled by politics and the government. They control the media and tell the public how they should think or what they should do. We obviously need the government and politics to have laws and some control over the people. One thing that is misconception of the government is that the people work for the government, when in reality the government works for the people. I am no expert and do not even come close to knowing anything about the government or politics. I think this is another reason why I do not like talking about it. Do you think the government has too much power at times?
Politics…
One thing that everyone says is to never talk about religion or politics. Politics and the government I know are important but it’s one topic I would much rather stay out of most of the times. I think it’s due to the many ways that the government operates and the things they do is the reason I dislike it so much. For example, taxes… Taxes is just ridiculous all around! Don’t get me wrong, taxes are one way the government makes money. But we are taxed on the money we make, items we buy, items we sell, property we own etc. I don’t understand why when we owe income tax money, we have a certain time frame to pay, or we must pay interest on it. Yet when the government owes us income tax back to us (which is our money from us paying too much income tax) we do not get interest back on our own money. Do you think we are taxed on too many things?
Helping other countries.
I think it’s an excellent thing to help people in need and countries that are in need. I feel before we can help someone else, we should be helping ourselves first. We have high rate of homeless people in the United States and a lot of them being our own military veterans that fought for our country. I think, and of course this is just my thought, a country should take care of its own first. What are your thoughts?
My thoughts.
I think the people as a whole need to stand up against our government and make them work for us the way it was supposed to be designed. The government is supposed to have power but when that power is abused or not working for the people then the people need to stand up and make the government answer to the people. A big problem is our government and country are in deep debt. Like any business when it is struggling or in debt, they need to make budget cuts and cut back on spending. The government should be forced to do the same. They should be given an amount or a budget per year that they are allowed to spend. In this budget this should include payroll and any other necessities, once the budget is gone then that’s it. They need to cut back on their spending. Like I say these are my thoughts. I am no expert on how the government works or what it exactly does with its money or anything. I just feel like it should be like a business and run itself like a business when it comes to finances.
