Every sports team has a mascot that brings the team luck or means something special to the team. Mascots can help boost the atmosphere at the event and get fans to cheer the team on. Mascots can also help with ticket sales and boost income for events. Some team mascots can act silly and will draw in fans to keep on the latest trend of silliness from the mascot. Some team’s mascots are more well known than the team itself. Do you know a team mascot but do not know the team itself?
Luck or coincidence?
Is it just super stiction that mascots can help the team win or is it just coincidence? Some teams and fans think that mascots can bring luck. While most teams and fans are willing to do anything if their team wins. They will go to the extent of not washing clothing or taking shower. Teams will even worship their mascots to try to make sure they win. When in reality the mascots have nothing to do with the win, it’s the team’s talents and good playing that makes them win. Do think teams need a mascot to win?

Mascots can boost the atmosphere at the event. They can make fans scream and get wild. Mascots will also get fans involved to help make sure everyone is having the time of their life. Mascots can help with ticket and memorabilia item sales by getting the fans to follow the team and the mascot. Mascots will act silly to keep the fans entertained and having a great time. My favorite mascot and team.
My favorite team is the Detroit Red Wings. Their mascot is Al the octopus. A real octopus is thrown on the ice before the game or after a goal is scored for good luck. The Detroit Red Wings adopted a octopus in 1952 when two brothers threw a octopus onto the ice during symbolizing that the team needed to win 8 more games to win the Stanley Cup and to have a perfect season. After that the octopus later adopted the name Al from Al Sobotka who used to pick them off the ice once a fan has thrown the octopus on the ice. The Detroit Red Wings are one of the few teams without a suited mascot to rally fans till this day.
