The places we live in or nearby have more to offer than we will ever realize. Many times, we overlook the little things that make our town, city, or state a special place to us. As we grow older from being a child to a young adult, many young adults cannot wait to leave their town or even their state. It’s not until we leave that we realize what we had. As the old sayings goes “grass is not always greener on the other side” and “if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is”. Everyone is always looking for something bigger and better out there. Sometimes you just need to open your eyes to your own town, city or state. When you were young, did you want to live somewhere else like across the state or in a different state or country?
Can’t wait to leave and explore!
When we are young and dumb (or just inexperience) we think we know everything and anything is better than what we have. We think we can do better, or life will be easier if we could just get away from the town, city, or state we live in. As we get older, we may even research and investigate living in a different state or even country. There’s one thing that will always be true there is nothing like your hometown or home state. We won’t realize this until we are serious about moving or after the fact that we have moved. It’s not uncommon that this happens to most people. Most never leave, some people leave and come back years later, and then a few will leave and never look back. Have you ever tried leaving or did you leave your hometown?
Missing what was nearby.
We never realize what we had until it’s gone. Sometimes it’s too late when we finally realize it. Our hometown and home state have so much more to offer than we will ever imagine. We only look at part of the aspect that makes us want to leave or so it seems like a good idea to leave. We never look at the whole picture until it’s too late sometimes. Before you move on, look at the whole picture. Do your own researching on your hometown to see what it has to offer (you might be surprised, especially if it’s rich in history). If you are serious about leaving write out a pros and cons list. Things to research are weather, family and friends, history, crime, jobs, attractions, housing, etc. the list goes on. Truly weigh everything out. We may think we can just wing it but remember you will have no one to fall back on. So, do your research! Do you like making pros and cons lists?
Leaving my hometown and home state is what I need!
Sometimes people do need to leave. They do get stuck in a rut, and they do not see a way out without leaving. Another reason people may have to leave is because their job is relocating. Remember this when your job forces you and your family to move it affects everyone in your family and around your family. Leaving your hometown or home state is not always bad. So, do your research and if it’s the right move for you then let the new adventures take roll. Have you ever been forced to move somewhere?
My experiences with trying to move somewhere far.
I personally get it, when I was young and dumb (aren’t we all inexperienced) I thought I wanted to move. I investigated moving across the state and even into a different state. I thought this is what I needed, and my state is boring blah blah blah. The more research I did I found my state to have the best of all worlds. We have hot, cold, warm, and cool weather. We may get some sunshine, rain, snow and even hail. As far as disasters go, we only get tornados, which most of the time a very few. We have the most freshwater bodies than any other state and no matter where you are you can reach water in 15 to 20 minutes. The state I live in has so much history and attractions that I overlooked and never realized until I did research on my own state. All my family, friends, and the places I know are all here. But there was a point more than once I was serious about moving and then I realized what I would be missing and wanting here.
What is one thing that is unique about the current place you live in or nearby?
