What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

We all have a fear of something. Sometimes it can be something big and other times it can be something very small. When you think of what people have a fear of, the most typical stuff comes to mind, like the fear of spiders, drowning, clowns etc. But not everyone has the same fears. Some people do not have just one fear some people have multiple fears. There are many things that can drive us to our fears. Most fears come from us feeling threatened or harmed. Do you have many fears?

Having a fear.

It’s normal to have fears. Especially when we are young kids there are many things that scare us. Most kids have a fear of the dark or being alone. They think something will harm them or get them. Even though we know nothing will happen in the dark or if we are alone the fear will always be with us. Some fears will never go away, they will be with us forever. This is totally normal, and no one should be looked down on or made fun of because they have a fear of something. Have you ever been made fun of or embarrassed of a fear you have?

Fears come from?

Fears all originate from somewhere. Sometimes we see stuff in a movie or in real life and that will trigger a fear. Sometimes we could have the same fear as someone else. For example, if one of your parents talk about had bad a spider bit is and the worst one was a wolf spider, this may trigger you to have a fear of spiders. Now not all fears happen this way. Fears can also form from bad experiences. For example, if you have a near drowning experience because your feet got tangled in seaweed you may have a fear of dark water, open water, or something touching your feet when swimming. Is one of your fears from one of your experiences?

My fears.

I do not have many fears but one of the biggest fears if heights. I hate heights, and I am not a huge fan of roller coasters. I will go on roofs and do things high up if I must but would defiantly like to avoid it. Same goes with roller coasters, I do not like being up in the air that high and I really don’t like the feeling of falling or the drop. Another big fear is dementia. Silly I know. I just couldn’t imagine losing all your memories and your experiences. Working in the medical field and working with dementia patients never really had much as a realization than seeing my grandfather go through it. Now that he went through dementia it’s something I fear even more. I always think, what if I get dementia or it starts hitting me at a younger age.

What is your biggest fear and how do you face your fears?
