Most people’s to-do list can be long and some things it seems we never get a chance to ever accomplish. When our to-do list gets long, or we have more than two items, we must prioritize our list. But sometimes it’s never that easy. The list will continue to grow and our days off or free time to accomplish this list is very limited. When our list gets too long, and we really want to accomplish our to-do list we will tend to cut out the important things in life and we get so focused on what we must do on our list. Do you have a to-do list that seems to keep growing?
To-do list keeps growing!
Our to-do list will never stop growing. Just when we think we accomplished almost everything or at least the important stuff, our spouses or significant others will have something else they want done. Sometimes we can be busy enough with all the small tasks, but when we start adding in bigger tasks or projects, we want to get done we will fall behind. It always seems once we fall behind on our to-do list it takes a while to catch back up. Does your to-do list grow every month?
Catching up on things that need to get done!
As our to-do list grows, we will try anything to start knocking tasks off the list. Sometimes it’s staying up later or waking up earlier and other times we cut into our family time. Let’s say if Sundays are your day to do stuff with the family you may tell them this weekend, I am going to try to accomplish a couple of projects around the house. While missing out on one weekend seems harmless it can lead us into doing it more than just this one time. Yes, we catch up on our to-do list, but it hurts the family especially if they look forward to spending time with you. Have you ever skipped out on something or loss sleep because of a project around the house?
Focus on the important stuff in life!
Even though we drown in projects and some stuff we must get done as soon as we can, we should never cut time from our family or health. Honestly that project will still be there in a week. If it does become a hinder on the family and they want, you to finish the task then offer for them to help or be a part of it. Most families, especially children, just want to be a part of whatever you are doing. Sometimes it’s not worth cutting from our sleep. We will be more tired which means we can make mistakes at work or on the project, plus we could become more vulnerable to catching a cold due to our system being tired. Do you try to include your family in your projects?
My to-do list!
My to-do list is long, and it defiantly doesn’t stop growing. I have many projects in the back of my mind that I want to get done. Sometimes I will write the important ones down so my family can see what needs to be done. I will always try to include them in my projects. I always offer for them to help and sometimes I will pull them to the project to give me input or hold something. I will always make sure to stop and spend time with them no matter where I am at in the project. Of course, my way is not perfect or the right way but it’s what works for us. You must find what works for your family while still accomplishing your list. Just do not forget about the important stuff in life like your family or taking time for yourself.
Do you feel your to-do list will be impossible to achieve?
