Today has been just one crazy ride. Almost anything that could go wrong has gone wrong (on the technology side). Started the day off at work and the ambulance needed to have the router updated. We do our first call and then the navigation didn’t want to work. My partner and I had to get a new ambulance. Everything was going well until our third call. We have internet problems again. This time we can not get the ambulance Wifi to work.
The issue
Having an ambulance with no internet is a real big pain in the butt. We have a silent dispatch system meaning that everything comes over the tablet in the truck. But with no internet our calls must be called out over the radio. Doesn’t seem bad until you think about all the radio traffic. We also need to let dispatch knows when we are on scene, transporting, destination, where we are going, what priority, etc.
Looking a head
If everything goes right, I will be starting to lay new flooring in my house. I am doing less than half the house with vinyl floors by Cali floors. My flooring should be getting shipped in the next few days. I am painting the rooms once I pull up the carpet. The I will lay the floor after the painting and prepping is done. I am doing all the work by myself. The running joke around my house is that it’s my four-month project. We will see its only five rooms and two hallways. I started the project this week. So far, I have one room painted, today I will finish painting the trim. Tomorrow I will lay the barrier sheet and Thursday my goal is to lay flooring in that room.
Detroit Red Wings
This weekend I am excited to go to Little Ceasar Ice Arena and see the Detroit Red Wings play. This year they been doing really good. There is nothing like seeing a live ice hockey game. The atmosphere itself is a lot of excitement. When your team you are rooting for win the game the feeling is not only excitement but proudness and happiness.
The dilemma
Now I need to get somewhere that has internet to post this blog. Not that I want to see someone get hurt or need an ambulance, but hospitals have internet that I can connect to.
