Daily writing prompt
How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

To succeed in anything, we must fail first! Failing is our way of learning and growing. We simply do not just know stuff and we defiantly do not become good at something without trying and practicing. While some things will sometimes come easier to us, we still make mistakes and fail at times. No matter how tough something is the more we practice and fail at it, the better we will become. One thing to always remember no matter how good we might be at something we must stay humble. Do you think that you must fail and make mistakes to learn?

Failing is not always bad.

There will be many times we fail at something or make many mistakes at doing something. This is not always a bad thing; this is how we learn and become better. It like the saying goes we must spend money (on uniforms, supplies, etc.) to make money. Same goes with succeeding at something, we must fail and make mistakes before we can learn and be successful. No matter how much we prepare ourselves we will always make mistakes and fail at something. Have you ever failed or made a mistake at something?

Making mistakes and asking for help.

There should never be a shame in asking for help. We all need help or to be guided at times. We all do not know everything. Using resources and asking for help should not be looked down on or something to be embarrassed about. If anything, it should be looked up to. Not everyone has the courage to admit they do not know something or ask for help. Sometimes it’s not a courage thing, it could also be someone being stubborn. People tend to hate to admit they are wrong or don’t know something, they think they will be looked down on or they are dumb. Whatever the reason is being honest and upfront when you do not know something shows that you do not think you know everything and not a bigheaded person. Are you able to admit you do not know something or ask for help when needed?

Knowing a lot, but not everything.

It’s okay to admit that you know a lot about something or that you are good at what you do. While doing so we should stay humble and not only know but admit that we do not know everything. Being humble and showing your vulnerable side of yourself is what most people look up to in a person. People are drawn to and have more respect for people who can admit their flaws over being the know-it-all cocky type of person. What are your thoughts about someone who brags how awesome and great they are?

How I succeed in what I do.

I am just like everyone else. I do not know everything or come close to it. Even in my job/career field I never claim or pretend to know everything. The one thing I can never stress enough to new people or people I am training is we do not know everything; I am always the first to admit this. I do know a lot and I am good at what I do but I do not know everything. In the medical field we practice medicine, it’s not knowledge of medicine. This can be used in most cases. It’s okay to be good at what you do but it’s also okay to not know everything. When I make a mistake or fail at something I can grow and learn from it. People do not get mad or upset, especially when I already stated that I do not know everything. Humans are not machines, and we should never be treated as one. We make humanly errors and sometimes we must ask for help. Knowing where to go and who to ask for help is key. The best way to learn is by trying and failing. There are many times in my field I go and seek information from doctors or others who may have a solution. Sometimes they will state what they would’ve tried or done because they might not know and that’s okay too. So, never be afraid to admit you failed or you made a mistake. Anyone who thinks they never do anything wrong is full of shit and those people have it harder when they do fail or make the tiniest mistake.
