When visiting or exploring a new location it’s not only about sightseeing the land but also looking at the wildlife. Every area you will travel to will have different wildlife. There is nothing like watching some of these animals in their natural habitat. Everyone enjoys going to the zoo to look at wildlife but when an animal is in its natural habitat they roam more freely and are more active. Visiting a safari will sometimes have animals more in their natural habitat than a zoo, the animals are not kept in cages or enclosures. Have you ever visited a safari?
Where to find animals?
To find an animal in a natural habitat you must visit or explore where the animals live. For example, go on a hike through a forest. There are many animals that live in the forest and heavily wooded areas. Sometimes it’s best to see animals near a swamp, creek, or some sort of water. Animals like humans will live where they can best survive. Most animals will not stand a chance living in the open, having no water supply, and having no food supply. This is why most hunters will put feed down (bait or food) in the area they hunt weeks before they tend to hunt the animals. They create a safe place with food and sometimes water. Then when a hunter is ready to hunt, they will have their choice of what animal will become dinner.
I never see big cool animals; all I ever see are bugs!
Not all animals live in the forest or different animals will live in different parts of the world. For example, a polar bear will not be found in Africa, or a giraffe will not be found in Michigan, unless you visit a zoo. But you will never see these animals in their natural habitat in these areas. Sometimes if we are going to look for a specific animal in their natural habitat we will need to visit where they live. Sometimes this means traveling across the world. Would you travel across the world if you could see your favorite animal in their natural habitat?
I just want to stay local and see animals in their natural habitat.
There is nothing wrong with staying local and seeing animals in their natural habitat. In fact, it can sometimes be exciting for the whole family to explore what animals live locally to you. Just know you might not see a lot of animals, or you may only see the same animals after a while. Birds will always be the widest spread of different types you will see even though they fall under the bird species. If you put multiple bird feeders with different feed around your house, you can sometimes attract different bird species right in your own backyard. While it’s not them in their natural habitat 100% due to you feeding them, they are still wild animals that are not kept in an enclosure or a cage. My favorite animal.
My favorite animal that I would like to see in the wild is the different types of penguins. When we think of penguins, we think of cold and snow. But the African penguins can live in temperatures in the up 80s Fahrenheit. Crazy I know! I enjoy seeing all different types of wild animals in their natural habitat. Even snakes and I am not a huge fan of snakes. But if it’s not close to me or I am not going to get hurt by it I like seeing all animals.
