Everyone should write their own autobiography when they get near 40 years old or older. There are so many benefits to writing your own autobiography. You can focus on your strengths, successes, and some of the challenges along the way. Having an autobiography will also help others understand your life story a little. Grandchildren and even great grandchildren will love to know what type of person their grandfather or great grandfather was. An autobiography is one way to get your life story told correctly. Autobiographies mostly tell the successes; sometimes they do not tell you the struggles or failures you had throughout life. Have you ever read someone else’s autobiography?
Your autobiography.
You can learn a lot about yourself and life if you write your own autobiography or have someone else write one on your life. When you start to come up with ideas you want to include in your autobiography take your time and jot down all the ideas. Think of all the things you have succeeded or done. Organize these ideas in a timeline fashion; everything should stay in order. A true autobiography should be from birth to present day. Most autobiographies are geared towards a certain topic or have a certain focus. If you had to write an autobiography, would it be a full biography or geared to a certain topic/group of people?
The true story.
Everyone will have their rumors of us. Unless our story is told by us no one will know the truth about us. Our autobiography is a way for us to state all the wonderful things we accomplished and achievements that have been awarded to us. When we read an autobiography, we get a glimpse of how that person lived their life. We can see what they accomplished and what they did to get where they are today. This is how our autobiography should go. Whose autobiography would you read?
Autobiography will live on.
Our autobiography is great to have around for our family. It can be read generation after generation. It’s nice to have the younger generation can pull your autobiography and get to know what things you have done in life. They can learn a lot about you without ever getting to meet you in person. Imagine your memory could live on many years after you leave this world. Would you read an autobiography on one of your relatives?
My autobiography.
My autobiography would have to start with a catchy first sentence. I have achieved so much and worked at many different types of jobs. My autobiography could be very lengthy, but I think it would be very interesting to read. Not that I like bragging about myself, but an autobiography is one way to kind of brag about yourself without being cocky. I feel to truly write a full autobiography on someone it will take at least a year to write. Even writing a geared autobiography towards a specific group or topic would still take some time and thought. Although I don’t know how you decide what to include and what to cut out.
What would your first sentence in your autobiography say about you?
