Teachers have the biggest influence on a child’s life. Not only do they help children learn but teachers also help shape the children to be who they are when they get older. To be a great teacher and influencer you must learn to adapt your teaching to fit every student’s needs while still making it fun and exciting. Everyone can teach somebody something. But to be an influencer and a teacher you must have special skill that adapts the teaching to the learning. Most students have a hard time staying focused on a topic especially if they are not interested in the topic. This is where a teacher can really show off their skills and keep the students focused. Did most of your teachers have an influence on you and your life?
Teachers.
Teachers most of the time do not get enough credit. While we do know some of the struggles, like buying their own school supplies for the class. We tend to forget that teachers are people with their own lives and problems. We have this expectation that teachers must come to school and teach our children. Parents will get upset when their child doesn’t learn something new every day. We never stop and think maybe the teacher was having a bad day and decided to have a fun day at school. Sometimes students will learn things without realizing they are learning. Do you think we sometimes forget teachers have problems of their own or have bad days too?
Influencing, teaching and adapting.
Teachers have a lot on their plate when they are starting the school year off. They need to learn everyone and their learning habits while they are trying to teach and have students retain the information. A good teacher will keep the students involved in the material while having fun. Children want to have fun and they like stories. The more real-life stories the teacher shares the more the students are intrigued and learn. Teachers are sometimes held up on this pedestal where they need to be great role models and be inspiring. Do you think teachers have a lot on their plate sometimes?
Anyone can say they’re teacher.
Anyone can teach someone something. Not everyone can be a great teacher. A great teacher is a skill that adapts teaching methods to the students learning style. Being a great teacher, you must adapt your teaching style while being interesting and making your students want to learn more. You as the teacher will have to deal with kick backs but must not respond with negative feedback. You will have to stay positive and make the students want to push themselves further and harder. A great teacher will set their students up for success they can use in the classroom, in real life situations, and grow up successful. Do you think most of your teachers set you up to be successful in life?
Being a teacher and learner.
My philosophy is that we should never stop learning. We will never know everything, no matter how great you think you are. I am good at my job, and everyone thinks I know everything. But one thing I can never stress enough especially to the new people I train is that I do not know everything. The beauty about medicine is it’s not knowledge of medicine, it’s practicing medicine. We all practice it, and we all keep learning from practicing it. When I train people, I am lucky I get one person at a time. I can adapt my teaching style to meet their learning style. I try to get their input after every emergency call, I ask them if they have any questions, comments, or concerns about the call. I try to challenge them and pull the information I know that they know when we are on an emergency call. When I train someone, I train them to be my partner. I want them to be competent and comfortable with everything that gets thrown at them in my career field.
